Summary:
Under direct supervision, performs a wide variety of office support, secretarial and receptionist duties for assigned area.
Compose letters and correspondence.
Relay and resolve telephone and walk-in inquiries.
Schedule calendar, meetings, and answer inquiries concerning activities and operation of department.
Make travel arrangements.
Create, maintain, and process records and forms.
Perform data entry on a personal computer using various software programs.
Perform a wide variety of typing assignments that are sometimes confidential in nature.
Qualifications (Required and Preferred) MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL AND WORK REQUIREMENTS (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS):
High School Diploma or GED equivalency and two (2) years directly related work experience.

N/A Job Duties and Responsibilities The incumbent will:
Perform a wide variety of typing assignments, sometimes confidential in nature.
Operate a personal computer to enter data into spreadsheets, databases, and correspondence then draft, edit, review, and print letters, tables, reports, and other materials.
Draft or prepare responses to routine inquiries Greet and direct visitors and students in a manner consistent with contemporary practices of customer service through direct contact, e-mail, fax, and telephone inquiries.
Accept, screen, and route telephone calls.
Maintain call log as required.
Answer inquiries concerning activities and operations of department.
Maintain calendar of departmental activities.
Sort, screen, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail.
Prepare copies and sends faxes.
Mail departmental information to prospective students.
Assist with gallery show preparation tasks as needed, including, but not limited, to organizing materials and printing labels for incoming artworks.
Provide support in monitoring gallery daytime hours, ensuring a smooth and welcoming visitor experience, engaging with visitors, answering inquiries, and providing general information about the gallery's offerings.
Assist with gallery exhibition openings, by helping with logistics, setup, and distribution of marketing materials.
Assist in orientation of prospective and new students.
Create, maintain, process, and update files, records, curriculum vitae, and other documents for students, departmental employees, and assigned department.
Create attractive Fine Arts Divisional Newsletter using publishing software.
Distribute to relevant stakeholders.
Arrange meetings and conferences.
Keep minutes of departmental meetings.
Schedule interviews and appointments.
Make travel and lodging arrangements.
Order, maintain inventory of, and distribute office supplies.
Perform basic bookkeeping functions, which may involve simple billing and cash receipt activities and assist in the preparation of the departmental budget.
Assist in preparation of annual report and accreditation processes that apply to the assigned department.
Participate in campus initiatives and professional development designed to increase student success.
Perform job-related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Light physical activity is required with occasional lifting of objects up to 15 pounds.

Dean of Fine ArtsTEMPLE COLLEGE BENEFITS PAYROLL:
Employees are paid by direct deposit through the last working day of the month.
Wages for 16-week semesters are paid evenly over four months, and eight-week semesters are paid evenly over two months, with the first deposit occurring on the last working day of the first full month of the semester.
Actual deposits are paid on the last working business day of the month.
All benefit deductions are taken at that time.
RETIREMENT:
Temple College is one of the few community colleges in the state of Texas to be permitted Federal Social Security deductions.
Temple College is a Section 218 employer.
MISCELLANEOUS LEAVE:
Jury Duty, Bereavement, Deteriorating weather, and Military training.
WORKERS COMPENSATION:
If an employee is injured on the job, Temple College, through its Worker Compensation Program, pays all authorized hospital, nursing, and physician's fees.
