As a Collections Support Specialist, you will:
Have relevant collections experience and be comfortable with manual systems (we do not use an auto dialer or scripts).
Call members to collect on past due balances.
Preserve the credit union's assets by collecting on delinquent accounts in early stage delinquency with all loan types such as secured, unsecured, and credit cards.
Possess excellent attention to detail skills and organization skills.
Handle response to tickets, emails, voicemails in a timely manner.
Process credit life and disability claims and GAP claims.
Post Trustee payments, initiate repossessions, and work collateral through the liquidation process.
Maintain a positive attitude, be team oriented, able to accept constructive criticism, and treat each and every member with the compassion and respect they deserve.
We are looking for someone who has:
Graduated high school or equivalent.
Relevant Collections experience (required).
The ability to thrive in a very fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
Stable work history - we like to see candidates that have been in roles for 2
years or more.
Previous call center or teller experience (preferred).
Strong analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
Ability to persuade others to take a specific outcome.
Sound decision-making skills and intuitive natured to think on your feet.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 products, with strong knowledge of Excel.
Experience with working in multiple systems at one time - comfortable navigating various platforms and computer equipment.
Has flexibility to work shifts during the week between 8-6 with occasional Saturdays.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
