Manufacturing Plant Manager Opportunity in Temple, Texas based hydraulics manufacturing organization is looking for an experienced Manufacturing Manager with 7 - 10 years experience and the ability to apply Lean Manufacturing techniques and methodology to their existing operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Direct overall manufacturing operations ensuring the achievement of operational objectives.

Position Description: Direct and manage all plant operations; overall responsibilities including production, maintenance, quality and other production-related activities.
Goal: The Plant Manager oversees all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed. The successful candidate will have the key skills to develop processes that maximize stewardship, safety, quality, and productivity.
Best Practices:
Work to understand and improve processes in the operation to maximize output
Continually monitor all areas of the operation for adherence to procedures and best practices to deliver consistent product.
Coordinate and monitor the work of all departments. Starting at one area (such as material handling) monitor and understand the nuances of that area and how it impacts the overall operation/end product etc.
Supervise performance and implement improvements as you move on to the next area.
Utilize daily financial and reporting data to improve profitability, ensuring the numbers and the revenue drivers are accurately reflected.
Production:
Manage and accurately measure employee productivity.
Manage maintenance of equipment and overall plant organization and cleanliness
Formulate demand based work schedules with proper amount of staff and supervision while still maintaining maximum output.
Monitor daily and adjust as needed for operational effectiveness.
Plan, organize, direct and run optimal day-to-day operations to exceed our customers expectations
Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
Coordinate plant activities with departmental managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner
Establish organizational structures and set goals for each person on the team.
Manage by walking around and training your eyes to see areas of opportunity and improvement
Use scheduled evaluations to involve the team on what they are doing well and areas where improvement is needed; develop action plans accordingly.
Give timely and direct feedback. Clearly delegate tasks and accountabilities and hold team members accountable.
Control and minimize overtime, premium freight and repair expenses
Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace or make adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary
Provide leadership and training for team members to accomplish company goals and objectives
Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management
Provide leadership and direct oversight of fabrication, machining, assembly, warehouse, facilities, production control and maintenance departments.
Lead production meeting promoting a culture of continual improvement and maximum output.
Actively partake in interviews, approval of all hires, and disciplinary actions related to the departments.
Proactively balance staffing levels with projected production requirements.
Continuous Improvement & Process Efficiencies
Establish workflow and assembly methods maximizing the efficiency of the manufacturing process.
Safety
Proactively monitor the maintenance programs for both facilities and equipment ensuring downtime, potential safety liabilities and environmental hazards are minimized.
Establish and maintain the facility, equipment, processes, procedures and training to ensure the highest level of safety for all personnel.
Drive company safety program aiming for a zero accident environment.
Serve as the point person for all inquiries and reporting matters related to EPA, OSHA, Fire Department and the like.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 7 years progressive staff management experience in a production environment required.
Proven track record of assembling, leading, and mentoring strong integrated teams required.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required. Proven high level of creative problem solving ability required.
Demonstrated ability to be adaptable, tactful, and lead by example when faced with tight deadlines and fluid environments required.
Energetic leader with strong people management skills required.
Conduct oneself with the highest level of professionalism and ethical standards.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
