NOTE:
This is a part-time position (20 hours/week).
The salary listed represents full-time employment and will be pro-rated based on the actual number of hours worked each pay-period.
Likewise, benefits and time-off accrual will also be prorated and based on your part-time work schedule.
This position is located in the Anatomic Pathology Service at Central Texas Veterans Health Care System - Olin E.
Teague Veteran's Medical Center in Temple, TX.
Major duties and responsibilities include:
o Oversee and perform technical work in the Cytopathology section of the laboratory.
o Assist pathologists and physicians in the collection of fine needle aspiration cytology samples o Assist personnel performing cytoprepatory procedures in the cytology laboratory o Assist in the pathology Gross Room with small biopsies when needed o Provide essential coordination and summaries for broad review by the Medical Director of Anatomic Pathology o Provide technical assistance and information and serve as a technical consultant to physicians, nurses, and other medical personnel o Maintain all required data for review by accrediting agencies o Utilize laboratory computer systems to record and document all work performed within the Cytology Service o Assure all cytology equipment and testing materials are working properly o Complete all requested administrative reports required o Perform other related duties as assigned Work Schedule:

DESIGNATED DRUG-TESTING POSITION:
Applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
Applicants will not be appointed to the position if a verified positive drug test result is received.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
