Physician (Compensation and Pension)
This position is located in Temple, Texas.
Primary anticipated duties would include:
o Physician will be assigned to work in the Compensation and Pension Section.
o Provider will provide examinations at our at our Temple site and DES Clinic on Fort Hood.
o Compensation and Pension Physician performs disability evaluations, which include review of medical records, obtaining history and physical examinations of the veterans, and assimilation of lab and x-ray data.
o Physician uses computerized medical records (CPRS) to order all appropriate lab and x-ray tests.
o Physician is responsible for the completion of medical reports which includes editing and finalizing.
o These reports are provided to the Veterans Benefit Administration (VBA) for determinations of service-connected disability and benefits.
o Chart completion is done electronically using VA and DOD computer programs like CAPRI, VBMS, VVA and/or Alta.
o Ability to perform all types of medical exam (e.
g.
General medical, joint exams, neurological or cardiology exams, GYN exams) is required.
o In addition to clinical duties, incumbent will hold routine administrative responsibilities.
o Board certification in a medical specialty is preferred.
IF PATIENT NEEDS ARISE, THE INCUMBENT OF THE ABOVE POSITION MAY BE REASSIGNED WITHIN THE CENTRAL TEXAS VETERANS HEALTH CARE SYSTEM.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
