Supervisory Dietitian - Quality Management Program Coordinator

The incumbent serves as the Quality Management Program Coordinator for the Nutrition and Food Services (NFS) department at CTVHCS which is an affiliated, tertiary, complexity level 1, multi-facility health care system consisting of facilities located at Temple and Waco, a large outpatient clinic in Austin, and Community Based Outpatient Clinics in Brownwood, Cedar Park, College Station, and Palestine.
o Primary responsibility is for the overall technical and administrative functions related to the support of the nutrition quality management program.
He/she develops, organizes, directs, manages, and controls the quality management program.
Has the overall responsibility for planning, assessing, and evaluating the quality management program to ensure compliance with VHA, Inspector General (IG), Joint Commission and Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) standards and regulations and CTVHCS policies and procedures.
o Reviews electronic medical records of patients to substantiate that clinical staff meet established guidelines of care that meet the needs of the patients.
o Develops and implements a Clinical Performance Improvement Program to ensure provision of high quality nutrition care and improved outcomes.
Prepares and submits reports to staff and management.
o Directly supervises and reviews the work of assigned clinical dietitians.
Must travel to Waco Campus at least one day per week.
o Monitors the use of the electronic scheduling package by dietitians to ensure policy and directives are being followed.
o Evaluates performance of staff and uses the incentive award process to recognize staff for performance awards and special contribution awards.
o Assists in the recruitment, interviewing and recommending selection of new staff members.
o Recommends and initiates counseling and disciplinary actions for subordinates, as guided by Human Resource Management, Master Agreement and NFS policy.
o Assists the Clinical Nutrition Manager and Chief NFS in the interpretation and advises other services, programs and top management concerning general agency guidelines that impact NFS.
o Supports facility mission and coordinates clinical nutrition activities with other services and units, clinics and local community.
o Assists Clinical Manager with the coordination of the Texas A&M University Combined Graduate Degree- Dietetic Internship Program.
o Relieves for Clinical Manager, Site Mangers and other dietitians as needed.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
