Sr. Software Developer - UNIX Development

The Senior Software Developer builds, implements and tests new applications, upgrades, enhancements and database designs, and performs maintenance to ensure system compatibility.
The Senior Software Developer also conceives, experiments with, and presents architectural approaches for software applications.
In addition, the Senior Software Developer establishes technical standards and guidelines for effective programming, provides an advanced level of technical expertise and product knowledge to ensure successful implementation and support, and works with users in support of business applications/ specifications.
The Senior Software Developer for the Health Plan will provide technical support for assigned application(s) in support of the Health Plan business functions and normal software maintenance and updates.
The Senior Software Developer for the Health Plan will also document business requirements, provide solution design and development, perform unit testing, and provide UAT technical support.
The Senior Software Developer for the Health Plan will also have the following responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Perform primary and/or secondary administrative and technical support for assigned applications Collaborate with IT-support teams and outside vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
Create and maintain support documentation (business requirements document), service desk routing, and knowledge base entries Establish technical standards and guidelines for effective programming.
Assist with the administrative, technical, and customer-facing duties surrounding the successful project support of system updates and changes Assist with data clean-up and preloading efforts in the applications Accountable to achieve Service Level Agreements (SLA) Understand end-user workflow Serve as a liaison between end users, subject matter experts and technical support The ideal candidate for the Senior Software Developer for the Health Plan will be knowledgeable and experienced with Healthcare Insurance and will have a Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
